THE SKIES OF BIEI (SORA TO KUMO NO STAGE) (1998) Ambient CD-ROM Music to accompany photos by Goh Itoh Japan: Kinyosha KYRG-10221 Morgan’s second foray into CD-ROM music again accompanied the images of an outstanding photographer – this time, Japanese lensman Goh Itoh. The photographs are of Itoh’s homeland, Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan. Its gently rounded mountain ranges and spectacular cloud formations inspired Morgan’s music, specially composed for this (bilingual: Japanese/English) CD-ROM. Four lush organ/piano/guitar/synthesiser soundscapes were the result. Morgan has been to Hokkaido several times and comments that the spacious, robust beauty of this region reminded him of the highlands of Scotland.
